The Department of Public Works' mission is to plan, build, operate, maintain and support transportation, parks and cemeteries to sustain natural systems essential to a safe and comfortable life and afterlife in Ipswich. The Department works with town employees and residents to ensure that the present and future way of life in Ipswich is consistent with their needs and desire to want to continue to work and live in Ipswich.
  1. Holiday Trash and Recycling Delay

    Monday, October 11, is Columbus Day (observed). Trash and recycling pickups for the week will be delayed by ONE day. Compost pickup will be on Wednesday, its regularly scheduled day. Read on...
  2. Town Wide crack sealing

    The Town has contracted with Indus for the crack sealing of certain streets throughout Town. This work is scheduled for Tuesday October 19, 2021 starting at 7 a.m. This work is weather dependent any inclement weather will delay the work.
  3. Private Plow Contractors Wanted

    The Ipswich DPW is seeking qualified plow contractors to assist with plowing throughout Town for the winter season of 2021-2022. If you are interested please contact the DPW at 978-356-6612 or via email at dpw@ipswichma.gov.
