Ipswich Housing Partnership

The Ipswich Housing Partnership's (IHP) goal is to support the diversity of the town's population through the creation, preservation and improvement of housing that's affordable to low and moderate income individuals and families. 

Ipswich Housing Partnership Mission Statement

The Ipswich Affordable Housing Partnership will:

  • promote and assist with the development of affordable housing in Ipswich which
  • reflects the goals and character of the community;
  • establish housing priorities for the town;
  • develop criteria for evaluating affordable housing proposals;
  • assist in the resolution of concerns regarding specific development proposals;
  • obtain local, state and federal funding and other resources for affordable housing; and
  • increase public awareness of the importance of developing and maintaining affordable housing as part of a strong and diverse community.

IHP is a policy-making body that initiates programs, reviews applications for assistance, makes recommendations to the Town’s Planning Board on many housing matters, and acts as an adviser to the Ipswich Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board and the Ipswich Planning Board. IHP members are approved by the Town Manager.


Regular meetings

The Ipswich Housing Partnership meets jointly with the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board on the fourth Wednesday of the month.  Meetings are usually held in the Planning Department conference room at 7:30 AM.  Both committees are supported by the Department of Planning and Development staff, including the Town's Housing Coordinator, Caja Johnson.
