Important note: Boots are highly encouraged at this property, especially crossing the causeway out to Smith Island. Please be respectful of our neighbors’ private property.
More information: From the parking area, the trail passes through grassland bird habitat before splitting at the first bench under the tree. The half-mile Baker’s Island Trail is found to the left of the split and crosses a private driveway. This trail also passes along the marsh and offers a scenic view of the Eagle Hill River marshes from a bench. To the right of the split is the Smith Island Trail, which follows the main trail from the bench across a causeway. This ¾-mile trail leads to the grassy Smith Island and a bench for viewing.
