Downtown Ipswich Parking Changes effective September 1, 2019

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT:  On September 1, 2019 changes to the Town of Ipswich Parking Regulations will be going into effect.

The changes will:

1.   Re-establish signs and enforce the two-hour parking restriction on the southerly side of Depot Square where signs do not currently exist.

2.   Restrict parking in the Town-owned lot (commuter rail lot) off Topsfield Road to Ipswich residents (or vehicles registered in the name of a business, the principal address of which and the registration address of which are located in Ipswich) only, between the hours of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. During these times residents must display upon their vehicle a Solid Waste Transfer Station or Crane Beach sticker issued by the Town of Ipswich. This restriction shall not apply to any vehicle displaying a handicapped registration plate or dashboard placard, which is parked within an officially designated handicapped parking space.

3.   Restrict parking between the hours of 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, on Peatfield Street (from Kimball Street to the Ipswich River), First Street, Second Street, Fourth Street, Fifth Street and Sixth Street to vehicles registered in the name of an Ipswich resident, the principal address of which and the registration of which are located in Ipswich, as evidenced by display upon the vehicle of a Solid Waste Transfer Station or Crane Beach sticker issued by the Town of Ipswich.

4.   Increase the penalty for a parking violation from $15.00 to $30.00.
