As required by state statute, the Board of Selectmen must annually 1) conduct a public hearing and vote on the issue of having a single tax rate or multiple tax rates for different classes of property. While not considered applicable, other options that may be considered at this time would be; 2) allow a discount for Open Space, 3) Residential Exemption, or 4) Small Commercial Exemption. Residents of the Town of Ipswich please note the Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Hall on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 8:00 PM to discuss the Annual Classification of Real Estate Taxes prior to the issuance of tax bills.
