Originally proposed for the lower North Green, the sculpture would be constructed of bronze, be about 14 feet in height, and be located in the middle of the South Green about 120 feet south of the intersection of County and Argilla Roads.

In accordance with their policy, Guidelines for Accepting Public Art (“Guidelines”), the Selectmen referred the proposal to the Public Art Review Committee (“Committee”) for its review and recommendation. The Committee reviewed the proposal and submitted a report to the Selectmen report. The sculpture, which would commemorate the artistic community in Ipswich, would be designed by Essex resident and nationally-known sculptor Chris Williams.has been sent to abutters to Green, town officials, the Historical Commission, the Planning Board, and other parties of interest.
