The town of Ipswich is using the Mass State Ethics Commission online program to comply with M.G.L. c. 268A Mass Conflict of Interest Law (COI). This replaces the process of annually signing and returning handwritten acknowledgments and the old link for COI online training and pertains to staff and volunteers on boards, committees and commissions.
Please read this helpful visual guide to get started and see directions below to create an account. First, download Google Chrome to your machine as your web browser to create your account and complete each training.
- Click on “First time logging in?” Enter your email address, name and select your organization: Ipswich.
- Check your email for instructions and the link from the Mass State Ethics Commission to create a password (the link expires in 24 hours).
- Save your password and log into your account, then choose and complete both the Acknowledge Receipt of Conflict of Interest for Municipal Employees training and take the online State Ethics Commission Conflict of Interest Law training.
The acknowledgement and certificate of online training is stored in your user account as completed trainings. Everything will be completed and saved in the system under your newly formed account that you will access yearly to acknowledge the COI law and every other year to complete online training.
