[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Needed To Help With Invasive Pepperweed Removal

Pepperweed flowers.jpg

Learn about invasive plants and help Mass Audubon and the Town of Ipswich protect the biodiversity of the Great Marsh by volunteering and hour or two of your time to help with pepperweed removal. In our continued efforts to control the invasive pepperweed plant, the Town’s Open Space Program is seeking volunteers to help manually pull plants at the Town owned Strawberry Hill conservation property (56 Jeffrey’s Neck Road), on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Pepperweed pulling at Strawberry Hill will run from 9:30am-11:30am. If you can make any portion of the morning to help, RSVP to Maggie Brown at maggie@ecga.org, or call the Open Space Program at 978-356-6607 x3 with questions. Disposable gloves will be provided, or bring your own if you prefer. Please wear water-proof boots, or old sneakers you don't mind getting damp, and bring water, a hat, and sunscreen.
