The Town of Ipswich now has a public restroom. The handicapped accessible restroom, located at the Ipswich Visitor Center on South Main Street, will be open daily from 8 AM to 9 PM year-around. A public restroom has for many years been a goal in town among the business community. Portable toilets were found to be subject to vandalism and stand-alone options too expensive. This summer the existing tiny restroom in the Visitor Center was renovated and expanded to allow access from the outside and to accommodate wheel chairs. An automatic timer will unlock and lock the restroom, eliminating the need for staff to manage that function.
