The Ipswich Board of Health will conduct a Public Hearing on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 5:30 pm at the Town Hall, Meeting Room C, to discuss the repeal of their regulation, Sale and Possession of Tobacco Products and Minors, and the adoption of a proposed regulation, Restricting the Sale of Tobacco Products.
The proposed regulation will expand the definition of Tobacco Product to include nicotine delivery products; raise the minimum legal sales age from 18 to 21 for Tobacco Products effective December 30, 2018, include a cessation signage requirement; include minimum cigar package size/price; restrict flavored tobacco product sales to Adult Only Retail Tobacco Stores; ban blunt wraps, out of package sales, self-service displays, vending machines and free distribution of tobacco products and redemption of coupons; ban Roll Your Own (RYO) Machines; ban tobacco sales in health care institutions and educational institutions; include a fining structure, include a tolling period for violations and include language for suspension of permit.
